Dear Mr. Yamada, I want to apologize for the poor service you received regarding your recent order from our company, particularly for whatever extent our company is at fault. Your recent order for 500 pounds of high explosives and 800 automatic rifles poses certain constraints on our choice of shippers. Most shippers will not handle this type of cargo, as it is dangerous. In addition, your location in Yamahora, Afghanistan poses an additional problem, as most shippers won’t deliver to such a remote location. In seeking a shipper that would handle this order, our shipping department chose a North Korean company as it was one of only a very few willing to handle it. It now appears that we made a poor choice, since that company was not only late in arriving here, they were late in arriving in Afghanistan. Furthermore, the water damage to your shipment occurred while the shipment was aboard their vessel. While we don’t believe our company was directly to blame for the poor service you received, we do take responsibility for making a poor choice of shipping companies.
