Dear Mr. Yamada, This is to apologize for the poor service you experienced regarding your recent order. To the extent that our company is to blame, I want to extend my sincere apology. Your order for 2000 pounds of Japanese rice would not normally pose any problem for us. However we found that only a few shipping companies were willing to accept a shipment with delivery to your location. This delayed shipment until we could find a carrier who would accept the shipment. Among the few shipping companies willing to accept the shipment, we selected a Somali company. Now it seems that may have been a poor choice. The contamination of the shipment with rat droppings happened while the shipment was aboard their vessel. It was, thus, their responsibility. However we selected them and, to that extent, the fault also lies with us. Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience this matter has caused you.
